Single Wheel

Door dragging, grinding, or jumping the track? Clean and dry the rail first, and do not spray WD-40. If it still binds, single-wheel rollers are the usual fix for many residential sliders. Match your tab style below, or confirm fit in the Roller Finder. New to measuring? Start with Identify Your Part. Single wheel rollers are the classic, time-tested choice for residential patio doors. Each assembly features one wheel mounted in a fixed housing, concentrating the full door load through a single point of contact with the track. That simplicity is a strength: fewer moving parts mean a more affordable part price, a straightforward diagnosis, and a replacement process well within DIY reach. Their narrower profile is purpose-built for older door rails and lighter-weight panels. If your door frame is too shallow or narrow to accept a tandem cassette, a single wheel roller is almost always the correct specification. They are especially well-suited to lighter interior partitions, wardrobe and screen doors, and the smaller residential sliding doors common in homes built before the 1990s. One thing to watch: heavier or oversized glass panels stress a single contact point more quickly than two wheels would. If you are noticing flat spots on the tire, squealing during travel, or accelerated wear, verify your door’s weight is within the roller’s rated load capacity before ordering a like-for-like replacement. It may be time to consider a tandem upgrade instead.
